 Event Organiser: ISLENET - European Islands Network on Energy & Environment ISLENET is a network of European Island Authorities which promotes sustainable and efficient energy and environmental management. It actively promotes the adoption of local energy saving strategies and renewable energy projects. These involve a well-balanced approach to environmental management and could have a significant impact on local economic development. The event aimed to demonstrate the achievements and discuss the challenges faced by island communities and coastal regions in designing and implementing sustainable energy community (SEC) plans. These plans are designed to promote and maximise penetration of renewable energies and energy efficiency in communities that are often fragile eco-systems. |
