Introduction to the ManagEnergy Annual Conference and the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW)
The 2009 ManagEnergy Annual Conference.
The ManagEnergy Annual Conference 2010 in the Charlemagne Building, Brussels, Belgium on 24 March 2010, will be the ninth in a series of annual conferences for Local Energy Actors in Europe.
The theme of the
ManagEnergy Annual Conference in 2010 is:
"Delivering Sustainable Energy Commitments" Public Authorities and Energy Agencies working with local and regional communities.
This event will highlight opportunities for local and regional authorities and energy agencies to obtain funding for the implementation of their sustainable energy action plans, including partnerships with key stakeholders and financing for investments in energy efficiency and energy infrastructure.
The latest EU policies, initiatives and programmes on sustainable energy at local and regional levels will be presented by representatives of the European Commission and EACI.
Commissioner Oettinger is expected to close the conference with a speech and presentation of the ManagEnergy Award.
As in previous years, the
ManagEnergy Local Energy Action Award presented during the conference will be based on ManagEnergy Good Practice Case Studies.
The Annual Conference will be followed in the afternoon, by the
ManagEnergy Capacity Building Workshop on the ELENA facility in the Committee of the Regions, Brussels.
Once again, the
ManagEnergy Annual Conference takes place as part of the
EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), which this year takes place across Europe from Monday 22 to Friday 26 March 2010.
The
EUSEW is the reference event for sustainable issues in
Europe. It forms part of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign which is an
initiative of the European Commission launched in 2005.
EUSEW is organised by the
Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI) on behalf of the
European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy.
