Programme for 18-19 March - Workshop Training Session and Conference (791 Kb PDF)
Organised by AGESS (Agenzia per l'Energia e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile della Provincia di Forli Cesena) in association with the European Commission ManagEnergy Initiative and with the Patronage of Italian Ministry of Productive Activities
The ManagEnergy Training Workshop took place in parallel with an International Conference on Integrating the Local Energy Plan with National and European Policies - 18-19 March 2004 at the Local Chamber of Commerce (Sala del Consiglio), c.so della Repubblica, 5, Forlì, Italy.
The ManagEnergy Training Workshop was dedicated to operators of energy agencies in order to tackle the issue of the primary importance of stable relationships between the agencies and the local institutions. That is the only way to allow them to supply valuable and specific services to the territory. On the other hand, the event dealt with the central role of agencies in applying new energy technologies, with a particular highlight to the EC Directive on the energy performance of Buildings (2002/91/EC).
The International Conference covered the central role played by local energy agencies in drawing up local energy plans and in implementing European global policies. It was open to relevant organisations in Europe. However, organisations from elsewhere are welcome to view the Video Recordings after the event.
AGESS (the Agency for the Energy and the Sustainable Development of Forlì-Cesena Province) was set up under the EC programme SAVE and with the support of local Institutions and enterprises. The agency focuses its activities on the local territory, respectful of the European energy and environmental policy, thus thinking globally.
This conference was the opportunity for AGESS to introduce the Local Energy Plan, to discuss National energy policies in the frame of the European Directives and to talk about the importance of the agency's role on its own territory with other Italian and foreign Energy Agencies. Both issues were addressed to both citizens and public institutions.
A special session was dedicated to financing and to funding opportunities at local and European level and to the role of ESCOs, especially during the implementation of an energy plan.
Finally, another special session addressed the connection between energy consumption, pollution and public health.
