CRC Energy Efficiency Summit: Best Practice in Energy & Carbon Savings
The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) is the UK's first mandatory energy savings and carbon trading scheme targeting emissions from public and private sector groups. Organisations with half-hourly metered electricity consumption greater than 6,000 MWh per year are included in this scheme which is designed to incentivize energy and carbon savings through reputational and financial drivers.

The partnership from seven different European countries responsible for the ENERGY-WISE project is launching its FREE new online energy management tool in the UK. The main aim of the project is to help SMEs to be energy efficient and save costs through the use of three elements: e-learning training materials covering a wide range of energy topics + Q&A; an Energy Simulation Game and an Energy Knowledge Base. The event will be held along with a Networking Event organised by the Chamber.

As the Government seeks to develop its strategy for delivering smart grids, this seminar will examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the future of the UK's electricity network. Sustainable Thermal Energy Management in the Process Industries International Conference (SusTEM2011)
The Process Industry Thermal Energy Management Network (PRO-TEM) funded by RCUK, led by Prof. A.P. Roskilly of Newcastle University UK will be running an international conference on Sustainable Thermal energy Management in the Process Industries (SusTEM2011), 25-26 Oct 2011 at Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. About 45 refereed papers will be presented by colleagues from 9 countries. We intend to bring government, academics, industries and NGOs from both the UK and abroad together.

The event is being organised in partnership with the National Measurement System, British Measurement and Testing Association, Energy Institute, GAMBICA, Institution of Engineering & Technology, Institute of Measurement and Control, Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Institute of Physics. The programme comprises 4 parallel streams plus plenary sessions: research and development; applied measurement and metrology; measurement infrastructure; and, training.
