ManagEnergy Network Terms of Membership:
Only local energy agencies or similar local and regional energy-focused bodies with a public service mandate and involved in local actions will be accepted as members of the ManagEnergy Network. The European Commission reserves the right at all time to reject membership or revoke ManagEnergy Network privileges for any user that it considers does not comply with these requirements.
ManagEnergy is an initiative of the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and Transport , which aims to support the work of actors working on energy efficiency and renewable energies at the local and regional level. The main tools are training workshops and online events. Additionally information is provided on case studies, good practice, European legislation and programmes.
Information provided in registration forms on the ManagEnergy websites (www.managenergy.net and www.managenergy.tv) is added to the ManagEnergy registrant database. This database is used to disseminate information (usually by email) about ManagEnergy and relevant European Commission activities and events. In some cases it may be used to promote information about other activities which are considered to be of specific interest to local and regional energy actors.
In order to reduce the amount of information sent to registrants, most of this information will be described in a monthly newsletter. However, if the information is urgent or time-limited, special e-mailings may be sent.
In order that registrants can feel confident about the safety of information disseminated by ManagEnergy, information by email is sent in text-only format without attachments. The emails will usually contain links to pages on the internet where you can view and/or download further information.
What personal information do we collect, for what purpose and through which technical means?
Identification Data
In general, information is collected about businesses rather than individuals. Data collected includes identification data of a person (name, job title, areas of expertise, business contact address and telephone numbers, business email address, business website). In addition preferred language and computer system parameters (for internet broadcasts) and event preferences (e.g. parallel workshop to be attended or viewed online) may be collected when registering for ManagEnergy events.
Forms are provided online and required information is clearly indicated.
Additional information of a personal nature in relation to the service
Personal opinions on the performance of ManagEnergy, its services and evaluation may also be collected; in these cases supply of name and contact details are optional. These contact details are used to obtain additional information but specific identifiers are not included in any questionnaire results that are published. However, the country, type of organisation or area of interest may be included in the analysis.
The domains of interest and type of organisation are recorded in order to send focused newsletters.
