EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2010
Brussels, Belgium and live on the internet
EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) - 22-26 March 2010

We all know it: our energy future must be different from today's situation. New and renewable energy sources must replace fossil fuels. We will need to use energy more efficiently – the future has to be low-carbon. This is what the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), 22-26 March 2010, is set to address.

What's in it for you?

1. Many Energy Days across the EU – Go ahead and register yours!
Wherever you live in Europe, you can be part of the EUSEW by organising an Energy Day in your region or town. If your event promotes energy efficiency or renewable energy and will take place from 22-26 March (including preceding and following weekends), sign up your event on the EUSEW Website Energy Days in Europe

2. A series of high-level events in Brussels – be a part of it!
European institutions, associates of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, and other important players in the field will organise a series of events in Brussels during the EUSEW, such as the 3-day policy and networking conference in the premises of the European Commission from 23 to 25 March which includes the ManagEnergy Annual Conference 2010 and the ManagEnergy ELENA Workshop. If you plan to organise an event on renewable energy or energy efficiency in Brussels, it is possible to add it to the agenda of EUSEW events in Brussels. You profit from more visibility and free registration services. How? Simply get in touch with the EUSEW secretariat (eusew@sustenergy.org).

Find out more about EUSEW and the events taking place during the week on the official website: www.eusew.eu

ManagEnergy Capacity Building Workshop on the ELENA facility
during EUSEW 2010 - EU Sustainable Energy Week

Brussels, Belgium
The ELENA technical facility (www.eib.org/elena) was recently launched to support regional and local authorities in mobilising funds for investment in sustainable energy projects. This launch is generating a lot of interest, but also raises questions from the local and regional authorities and energy agencies. In order to clarify the exact mission of ELENA and the potential of the initiative for local actors, a half-day interactive workshop will be organised on the afternoon of 24 March 2010 in Brussels (venue to be confirmed), following the ManagEnergy Annual Conference, as part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).

We anticipate that this workshop will be very popular. Hence, in order to maximise the effectiveness of the event, participation will be restricted to the target organisations most likely to qualify for technical assistance - i.e. local and regional authorities, energy agencies and other similar organisations. Further information about the support available and the target audience can be found in the following document on the EIB website:

PDF Icon FAQ – Programme development support from ELENA

To register your interest in taking part in this workshop, please send an email to elena@managenergy.net with details of your organisations' interest in the workshop.

Further information will be available soon on the ELENA Workshop page of this site.
