Bioenergy International is a new media product. The web version of the Bioenergy International consists of three sections:

  1. the EDITORIAL: All information has passed through our editors and the language is English.
  2. the CONNECTION: The information is published directly from the provider to the reader. The Editorial team do not take any responsibility for the content of that information. The two advantages are that the information is published immediately after it has been written. The other is that it is possible to publish information in several common languages.
  3. the SPECIAL SECTION: consists of special topics including facts, photo archive, AEBIOM information and Country reports

English BioMatNet - Biological Materials for Non-Food Products

The BioMatNet website makes available results of RTD projects supported by the European Commission in the area of Biological Materials for Non-Food Products (Renewable Bioproducts). It includes final results from bioenergy projects in the FAIR, JOULE and THERMIE Programmes (FP4) and reports of ongoing research from the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) Quality of Life Programme, Key Action 5. Results from AIR (FP3) and ECLAIR (FP2), as well as other information collected under previous activities, are also included.

English CADDET

The CADDET website is a unique source of global information on proven, commercial applications covering the full range of energy-saving and renewable energy technologies. It includes links to the CADDET project database, with details of over 2000 international applications of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. You can download the CADDET InfoPoint Newsletter and case studies of particularly topical or successful projects (both as PDFs) from the website. The site also includes News, Events, the CADDET forum and links to other energy sites.

The CADDET Programme concluded in March 2005 but this web site will remain live to provide access to the wide range of information collected since 1988.

EREC - European Renewable Energy Council

EREC is an umbrella organisation of the leading European renewable energy industry and research associations active in the sectors of photovoltaic, wind, small hydropower, biomass and solar thermal. EuroComEner

EuroComEner is a website providing tools and methodology on effective communication and dissemination of energy information aimed at Energy Agencies.

European Climate Menu (ECM)

The European Climate Menu (ECM) website offers information on the ECM project and is used as a means of contact and information sharing between the partners of the project.
   A new web tool, launched in June 2004, helps local authorities discuss and develop climate policies. The tool is designed as an online table, which a local authority can use to indicate its ambition within several different climate policy themes. The tool will generate reports of the current situation and the desired outcome, which will then form the basis of a local policy plan. The tool is supported by the Altener programme.

European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy

The eceee (European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy) is a non-profit, independent organisation founded in 1993. Its goal is to stimulate energy efficiency through information exchange and pan-European co-operation. The members consist of policy makers, energy practitioners, NGO representatives and researchers involved in the study or promotion of energy efficiency.

EuroREX - The European Renewable Energy Exchange

EuroREX is devoted to the promotion of renewable energy in Europe. EuroREX provides commercial, investment, export, country and technology information with up-to-date news on sustainable and alternative energy developments in Europe and the rest of the world, all available from the EuroREX search page, with links to the main renewable Trade Associations. Green Pages is a Global Directory for Environmental Technology. It is a comprehensive guide to the full spectrum of environmental products & services, featuring over 6000 suppliers from 140 countries. Information about organisations, conferences and publications is complemented by editorial contributions from experts in their respective fields. A practical reference source for government departments, utility companies, engineering consultants, development agencies, importers and traders, educational institutes, non-governmental organisations and individuals engaged in environmental activities.
Green Portal

The Green Portal connects and aligns people from various manufacturing, engineering, scientific, government, investment and public policy organizations in a secure web portal outside of their organization’s IT infrastructure as a way to enable inter-enterprise collaboration, relationship building, knowledge sharing, project management and group learning.
   This collaborative platform and toolkit is modelled on Michael Porter's Cluster Network concepts to support decentralized, peer-to-peer process and project management to advance the inter-enterprise and cross-sector collaboration that is required to start-up and manage sustainable business initiatives.
   Portal groups include distributed energy, point of use biopower, LFG to Methanol, wind power, biomass processing, bioremediation, emissions management, waste recovery, green credits trading, waste water treatment and other sectors of renewable energy and green technology.

GREENTIE

The GREENTIE website is an international directory of suppliers whose technologies help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The GREENTIE Programme ceased collecting new information in April 2005. The website remains available as a store of the information collected by the programme.  Discussions concerning the future of the IEA EETIC Implementing Agreement (GREENTIE's parent) are ongoing - please visit www.eetic.org for the latest information.

IEA Bioenergy (International Energy Agency)

Work in IEA Bioenergy is carried out through a series of Tasks, each having a defined work programme. Most tasks have a common duration of three years. Each task is led by one of the participating countries (Operating Agent, OA) with technical effort coordinated by a Task Leader (see contacts below). For the period 2001-2003, the work is structured into twelve Tasks.

KommEN - Kommunale Energie NRW (Communal Energy in North
Rhine-Westphalia)
KommEN was created on behalf of the Ministry of Economics and Small Businesses, Technology and Transport for North Rhine-Westphalia. KommEN provides comprehensive information on projects on the rational use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources which have been implemented by municipalities in the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, KommEN is building an interactive network between municipal authorities interested in this topic by offering discussion forums and detailed contact information for the relevant actors.

LearnSD is the virtual campus of Earth Council that aims to make learning on sustainable development easy and accessible to all those who need it. PROMISE has the following main objectives:

The RETScreen International Clean Energy Project Analysis Software is a unique decision support tool developed with the contribution of numerous experts from government, industry, and academia. The software also includes product, cost and weather databases; and a detailed online user manual.

SEEN is a cooperative project under the support of OPET and China.
