EADwas founded at the beginning of the 2000. It is aims to encourage national and international co-operation in the fields of efficient and environmentally-friendly energy supply and energy use.

The association represents the interests of regional German energy agencies at national and European level focussing on:

• Rational Use of Energy
• Renewable Energy Sources
• Combined Heat/Cold and Power

and thus forms the counterpart to the recently established German Energy Agency.

As an independent organisation EAD encourages close co-operation between German.

Michael Geißler, Managing Director of Berlin Energy Agency, is President of EAD. energy agencies and authorities at federal, community or European level, scientific institutions and commercial enterprises.
