Dear Reader
The IEE and FP6 programmes are currently offering interesting financing opportunities for European projects. With considerable competition for scarce financial resources, finding the right information and partners becomes key. This is reflected in the growing number of energy actors searching for partners on the ManagEnergy partner search service. Furthermore, everyone can share the same information on these opportunities thanks to the live webstreaming and video recordings on the ManagEnergy Broadcast Portal - and more recently - to a new Energy & Transport DG Calls website, which offers a useful overview of all relevant calls for proposals and tenders.
Best regards

Fotis KaramitsosIn the framework of its ongoing Fourth Call for Proposals, the Directorate General for Energy and Transport (DG TREN) held an Information Day on 21 September 2005 in Brussels. Given the broad scope of issues presented and stakeholders involved, DG TREN would appreciate it if you further distributed this video based information to potential participants you might know in your organisation or country.
The information day dealt specifically with the research areas open in this call for proposals (FP6-2005-TREN-4/FP6-2005-TREN-4-Aero), which was published on 08 July 2005 (OJ Reference: C 168 of 08/07/2005) with the closing dates of 4 November 2005 (for Aeronautics and Space) and 22 December 2005 (for Sustainable Energy Systems and Sustainable Surface Transport). The aim of this event was to inform you about the content of this call for proposals and to clarify possible questions.
Patrick LambertThe European Info Day will take place on 7 October 2005 in the Centre Albert Borschette in Brussels, Belgium. You will also have the opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from across Europe, and to learn from the coordinators of successful proposals.
The event will be broadcast live on the internet by the ManagEnergy Internet Broadcast Service.
ManagEnergy offers a Partner Search service which can be used to add your Partner Search Requirements and search for Partners for your proposed projects.

Meath Energy Management Agency (MEMA) is a local energy agency formed in 2002 by Meath County Council and the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and Transport under the SAVE II programme.
For MEMA's initial Energy Awareness Campaign (Energy Awareness Week 2003), the area covered was mainly confined to Navan town and the surrounding area. Following on from the success of the previous year's campaign the target audience was broadened to the whole of County Meath. The campaign aimed to make people aware of the activities that were taking place locally during Energy Awareness Week. This was the first year Navan would participate in 'Car Free Day' and MEMA aimed to encourage the general public to opt for more sustainable choices of travel on this day. This was done through the various media, competitions and through the schools. Valuable lessons were learned with regard to time scales and staffing needs and the 2004 campaign provides MEMA with further learning tools for continual success in future campaigns.
