Summary
Bremer Höhe is the name of the three blocks between Schönhauser Allee, Pappelallee and Buchholzer Straße. In most of the flats, located in a popular In-Quarter, coal-stoves and gas single-storey heating furnaces ten years after are still dominating. Since the year 2000, a total of 500 housing units belonging to the tenant cooperative "Bremer Höhe eG" have been reorganized and modernized within the residential complex, with conveyance of the senate in self-direction. Best Practise with this project is not only the participation of the tenants in the reorganization, but also the power supply of the buildings.
Results
All tenants were convinced to sign a contract with the Berliner Energieagentur. Thus the operator had a good basis for his investment decision. The concept of a personal and individually advice was confirmed. A success ratio of 100 % new Current customer justified the high expenditure. On 15 September 2001 the first CHP with an output of 18 kW was started in presence of senator Strieder. Annually approx. 40% of the carbon dioxide output in the comparison of a conventional heating and BEWAG-Power is saved through these measures.
By the good co-operation of the cooperative of Bremen Höhe e. G., the Berliner Energieagentur GmbH and Energieberatung Prenzlauer Berg eV, the reorganization and power supply of Bremer Höhe became a best practice example of an energetic building reorganization.
