The European Commission has published a study on improving and networking of energy RTD information systems, assessing users needs, entitled Energy RTD Systems in the ERA. The aim of the study was to analyse existing energy RTD information systems, to compare it with users' needs and to make recommendations on how to improve the situation. The study shows that numerous national and international information systems, varying with respect to target groups, scope, geographical coverage, language and conditions for access exist, but that they are not very well interlinked up to now. The authors of the study call for activities both at Member State and community level, including the definition of a European strategy and roadmap for energy RTD knowledge management.
