Lund is one of the most bicycle friendly towns in Sweden. The Bicycle City initiative, part of the city's sustainable transport strategy LundaMaTs, aims at improving the situation for bicycles even more through 5 main projects, so as to make Lund a bicycle city of true European dignity:
The Health Bikers Project was carried out by Lund's Mobility Centre, which aims to trigger and assist in the development of more sustainable transport in Lund, through mobility consulting, information services and awareness raising about environmental and health implications of traffic. The Health Bikers project was tested in Soedra Sandby, a village near Lund which functions as a kind of laboratory as to what extent it is possible to change travel modes only by combining different mobility management activities.
