Denmark and Estonia were appointed lead parties for this sector. However, since 1999 the Baltic 21 Energy Sector work has been integrated in the Baltic Sea Region Energy Co-operation (BASREC), initiated by the Energy Ministers. Baltic 21 enjoys an observer status with BASREC. For more information concerning activities of the Energy Sector of the Baltic Sea Region, please visit the BASREC website.
The sector goal and actions have been developed by the sector, approved by the SOG and included in An Agenda 21 for the Baltic Sea Region - Baltic 21 adopted by the CBSS Ministers for Foreign Affairs in 1998.
