Report: Target 2 - promoting travel alternatives to private car use
Website: www.eu-target.net
Target 2 aims to implement effective ways to promote travel alternatives to private car use.
Its vision is:
- To develop, implement and evaluate a range of mobility management activities that will promote,
influence and encourage a change in travel behaviour, leading to the use of alternative modes to the car
and car dependent lifestyles.
- To develop these activities through proactive transnational cooperation and create a practical platform
for the exchange of information.
- To deliver best practice findings to form an integral part of effective and sustainable transport solutions
in urban and rural areas.
- To integrate mobility management activity with spatial planning mechanisms.
- To have positive impacts in social, environment and economic terms.
These aims support the interpretation and adoption of the European Spatial Development Perspective
(ESDP) and Norvision in national, regional and local planning strategies.
