Synopsis
The Mobility Committee - "Taula de la Mobilitat" - is a body set up to enable public debate and participation regarding mobility issues in the city. Its aim is to encourage the participation of all stakeholders so as to reach a consensus with citizens over the measures needed to achieve a more sustainable, better integrated and safer model of urban mobility. The group represents all those agents in the city and its surroundings who have an opinion to express on the subject. The Committee operates in plenary sessions and thematic working commissions, which look at current shortcomings and propose specific actions. The five commissions ("Collective transport", "Private vehicles, infrastructure, parking and goods transport", "Mobility education", "Bicycles", and "Pedestrians, barriers and accessibility") meet at least once a month.
The Mobility Committee's debates are set in the framework of the guidelines established by the Mobility Pact document, in which the city of Sabadell agreed by consensus the model of mobility that it wants for the future and the strategic lines to follow. This document serves as reference for the work of the commissions of the "Taula de la Mobilitat".
