The World Coal Institute, UK published 'The Coal Resource' (2005) which covers all aspects of the coal industry and is designed to explain the basics of the industry - from how coal is formed through to its production, use and environmental impacts.
The Coal Resource provides a comprehensive overview of coal and the role it plays in our lives. It covers how coal is formed, how it is mined, through to it's use and the impact it has on our societies and natural environment. It describes coal's important role as an energy source and how coal - along with other sources of energy - will be vital in meeting the world's rapidly growing energy needs.
The Coal Resource replaces the 'Coal - Power for Progress' series of publications.
