Green Idea Factory, Czech Republic, is looking for partners for an IEE2 project as follows:
The bicycle racks used on the fronts of buses in North America have very successful in over 15 years of use... hundreds of thousands of uses per month, and a good share of these intermodal trips formerly taken by car. But this solution - which costs about the same as one bus tyre - is more or less illegal in the EU. There has been one test of the rack, but it was only a crash test. There has been no study which examines the possible benefits (increased use of public transport, increased fitness, less pollution, etc.) and compares these to the risks.
A transport consultancy or government research centre in conjunction with its national transport ministry is sought out to initiate a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis.
