Partner Search Request: Partner Invitation - RES Exploitation Feasibility and Efficiency, Greece

Enolia SA, Greece, is a newly founded company in the field of RES, with a particular interest in PV technology. Isorropon SA is a publishing company focusing, among others, on the fields of environmental issues, energy sustainability and RES.

Enolia & Isorropon are interested in participating in EU projects in the field of RES and are also inviting partners to participate in their proposed project, briefly described below.

Project proposal: EU.RES.SME-Comp: A Comparative Trans-European National Empirical Study of the Feasibility and Efficiency of exploitation of renewable energy sources by SMEs.

There is a vast amount of interest in investments in the new and emerging field of RES, particularly in Mediterranean countries where regulatory issues are still in the process of being decided upon. It is expected that a considerable number of SMEs will be founded with the aim of taking advantage of the arising business opportunities. Such companies may become active in fields such as setting up and exploiting energy producing plants, offering integration services, trade etc. At this time, however, it is not clear what obstacles such ventures could be faced with, and how commercially feasible their venture will be, given the varying and disparate local conditions within each country of incorporation and operation.

Enolia & Isorropon propose to carry out a rigorous, empirical comparative study between at least 3 countries to illustrate how an SME could be set up and be made operational within the RES business, in one or more activities. At least one of these will be a real case, i.e. a company will actually be set up and its entire lifeline will be followed and documented step by step. In countries where no real company will be founded, the corresponding local environment, infrastructures, issues, opportunities, obstacles and experiences will be recorded and compared. The goal, and output of the project, will be to produce a detailed, practical recommendation document to be utilised by SMEs considering entering this field, as well as for local governmental (or other) authorities, illustrating how a large variety of region- or country-specific characteristics result in either empowering or hindering investments, business development and enterpreneurial activities in the RES field, and what could be done at various levels to improve this in each country.

Some of the issues of the above process to be examined may include, without being exhaustive, the following characteristics that could vary from country from country, and whose relevance and effect to the efforts of RES business is planned to be evaluated:

If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact Enolia & Isorropon.
