OPET Finland is a member of the OPET Network (Organisations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies). The OPET Network aims to promote the results of new energy technologies and their introduction in society. The Network operates under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Development.
OPET currently includes over 100 partner organisations in 45 countries within the European Union, the candidate countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Cyprus, as well as Norway, Iceland and Israel. OPET Associates have also been established in key work regions such as the former CIS, Latin America, China, India and Southern Africa.
The OPET Finland team is a service linking energy expertise from Finland to Europe and vice versa. Main activity area has been bioenergy technologies.
From 2003 onward, OPET Finland activities continue by Motiva Oy and VTT Processes while Tekes takes a new supporting role in the background.
