The Water Power Laboratory, Norway, believes that potential for small hydropower in Norway is approximately 3 TWh for mini and micro power plants and roughly 7 TWh for small power plants.
A laboratory has been established at Norwegian University of Science and Technology with the objective to monitor turbines. It is important to ensure that the technical equipment used in hydropower project is of high quality as scuh projects require large corporate investment for individual developments. Monitoring of turbines has the combined purpose of ensuring that the equipment lasts longer and that there are less instances of technical failure.
