Interactive Institute and Energikontoret i Mälardalen, Sweden, are looking for partners for the project "Young Energy" - an exploration of how teenager's energy behaviour can change by playing a mobile phone game connected to the energy meter in their homes.
The Swedish project, Young Energy, has resulted in a game called Power Agent where players interact with the energy demanding activities in the home and actively try to reder their energy consumption more effective. Players become agents and receive various energy saving missions to perform in real life. They receive clues in their mobile phones on how to perform their mssions. To increase the teenageers' motivation, to save energy, feedback is sent to their mobile phones during the duration of their missions.
User studies performed on Power Agent have been carried out in two places in Sweden. Results show that the household saving most energy lowered their consumption with 53%. The household saving the least lowered their consumption by 35%.
The Interactive Institute now wants to spread Young Energy to other European countries. Is your organisation interested in being a partner?
