Partner Search Request: Algae for Biodiesel, The Netherlands

Bosch & van Rijn, the Netherlands, is looking for partners for a project on "Algae for Biodiesel".

The goal of this project is to boost the commercialization of biodiesel production from algae on a European scale. The project has the intention to:

• Make a significant contribution to the EU policy: 10% biofuels in 2020. Creating the preconditions for setting up algae farms.
• Transform the bio-energy market by making 2nd generation bio-diesel available in large quantities. Fighting "food for fuel".
• Change behaviour of governmental parties and investors. Permits and pilots.
• Create access to capital for projects that generate bio-diesel from algae. Interesting the investors.
• Communicate information about bio-diesel from algae on a European scale.
• Train and motivate people that set up farms.

A new platform "Algae for bio-diesel" will be created where all involved parties (research institutes, manufacturers, test plants, investors, etc.) can share information for the development of bio-diesel production from algae. Research organizations can build upon each others results, investors have a clear overview of the possibilities and manufacturers can directly react on the latest research results and investor needs.

Important actions are:

• Setting up a web site and other means of communication.
• Sharing technical information via congresses and workshops.
• Bringing power plant owners (CO₂ and heat) and algae farm investors together.
• Finding capital, interesting investors.
• Interesting buyers of carbon credits.
• Putting up pilot projects.
