The Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is looking for partners for the IEE project WESER - Water and Energy Sustainability in European Regions.
Europe's water and energy resources are inextricably entwined. Energy is needed to pump, treat, transport, heat, cool, and recycle water. On the opposite side, the force of falling water turns the turbines that generate hydroelectric electricity, and most thermal power plants are dependent on water for cooling.
The aim of this project will be the creation of a framework of collaboration between the already established water and energy expertise groups. This framework will have as a final objective the development of a Water and Energy Programme for the implementation of water and energy policies and strategies in European Regions.
