Partner Search Request: Strategy to promote biomass business initiatives, Spain

EREN - Ente Regional de la Energía de Castilla y León, Italy, is looking for partners for a project. The target of the project will be development of a real biomass strategy, following EU guidelines, in order to increase biomass promotion business initiatives focusing at:

• The promotion of substantial increases in integrated production of solid, liquid and gaseous bioenergy sources for energy applications.
• Enhancing major new bio-businesses at regional level.
• Creating a European framework within which public authorities and business interests can take the initiative to develop and transfer experience with pre-planning large-scale integrated bioenergy production at regional level.
• Managing energy crops and forestry, fuel processing and distribution and possibly also user groups.
• Increasing bioenergy supplies while maintaining a balanced production of bioresources.
• Stimulating establishment at regional level of long-term business agreements as private or public initiatives.

The workplan has been divided into 7 workpackages.

• WP1. For management and coordination issues: to guarantee an efficient and productive management of the project.
• WP2. Regulations: Normative, standards and rules: to identify European, national, regional and local regulations, standardization, certify organisms,
• WP3. Bioenergy resources: to have a knowledge of the potential bioenergy resources in order to get a way for develop a real regional energy strategy.
• WP4. Bioenergy business possibilities: to promote the establishment of strong market structures (identify barriers, new bioenergy markets).
• WP5. Bioenergy tools: different tools for enhancing bioenergy business will be analysed.
• WP6. Communication and Dissemination: every partner should choose a susceptible sector (or target group) to promote bioenergy.
• WP7. Common Dissemination Activities: covers resources to contribute to common dissemination activities.
