Report: EICs - Euro Info Centres

In 2008, the former Euro Info Centers (established in 1987) were combined with the former Innovation Relay Centres (established in 1995) to form the Enterprise Europe Network.

Created by the European Commission to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in 1987, the Euro Info Centre (EIC) network grew from 39 centres to 255. These centres were spread throughout the European Union (EU), including the EU's seven most remote regions, the European Economic Area, and the candidate countries.

In addition, there were 31 associate members, 14 Euro Info Correspondence Centres (EICCs) and 340 relay points which significantly extended the geographical coverage of the network. This ensured practical and high quality information is always close.
