This case study provides an overview of an initiative to provide Poolsbrook village, near Chesterfield, with its own Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and district heating system. Run by a community-based limited company, the project aims to supply the community with affordable heat and power from sustainable energy sources, initially using natural gas and eventually methane gas from adjacent landfill sites.
This case study is published by Community Action for Energy (CAfE), an initiative of the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes: www.est.org.uk/cafe.
