This case study provides an overview of an inter-community competition to find the most energy-conscious village in the Scottish Borders. Villages received points for every householder completing a Home Energy Check, for hosting a talk on energy efficiency and for installing energy efficiency measures, with the winning community getting £3000 to improve their village hall. A key feature of the project was its use of volunteers recruited in the communities to promote the project to the community.
