Summary
The Agència Energètica de la Ribera (AER) is an autonomous organisation of the Consorci Mediambiental de la Ribera, which is formed by the county councils of Ribera Alta and Ribera Baixa. AER started in July 2001 with the support from the SAVE Programme and the county councils of la Ribera Alta and Ribera Baixa. The Agency covers 47 villages with a population of 270.000 inhabitants of the Valencian counties of Ribera Alta and Ribera Baixa. One of the main aims of the AER is to promote an energy saving culture and renewable energies in our educational centers. In this frame the AER created the "1st Contest of Projects on Renewable Energies and Efficient Use of Energy" addressed to all Educational Centres with technological areas and Workshop-Schools of La Ribera.
Results
In spite of being the first edition, a total of 22 projects were elaborated by 12 centres of our region. Most of them were related to some of the applications of solar energy, although projects that work from wind and hydro energy. Besides of the great attendance of public to the ceremony of delivery of the prizes, during the 10 days of exposition there were more than 800 visitors.

The contest had an amplified repercussion in the local and national press, local radio and television, thus contributing to make the Agency known.
Moreover the AER published leaflets describing all the projects that participated in the contest. These leaflets will be published in a book and the AER will distribute them to the educative centres.
