Deploying new technologies and efficiency measures to reduce transport's CO₂ emissions

The Organisations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies (OPET) in cooperation with ManagEnergy organised a conference on new energy technologies and energy efficiency measures in transport.

The topic on 25 May was: New energy technologies and energy efficiency measures:

Low CO₂ technologies and fuels for passenger cars
Energy innovation in inland shipping
Local and regional energy action in public transport.

On 26 May the focus was on the implementation of the bio-fuels for transport Directives, which set the targets of 2% bio-fuels in transport in 2005 and 5.75% in 2010. The workshop discussed the feasibility of these targets in the Member States, based on study results on bio-fuels availability, availability of suitable technology, and national, regional and local deployment plans.

The conferences are both relevant for the same target groups (governments, companies, fleet owners, research institutes, etc.).
