Report: Renew-Transnet

Website: www.renewtransnet.com

The Renew-Transnet consortium has been developing a renewable-energy-specific technology transfer process for SMEs across Europe. With the research and development stage now complete, the project is launching into the demonstration phase. By the end of January 2005, its online resource will be available to support SMEs in the renewable energy sector through the commercialisation process. Initially this will involve mentoring the project's eight demonstration partners through a holistic technology commercialisation process, and will eventually provide support to a wide range of organisations. It will provide information to identify market barriers, and the tools to bridge funding and service provider gaps for SMEs, as well as ensuring renewable energy innovators are able to successfully manage risk and get their products to market. SMEs, service providers, and investors looking for sound business opportunities can register online at www.renewtransnet.com from the end of January 2005. Here you will be able to learn about the specific challenges facing renewable energy innovators in Europe, and be added to what the coordinators envisage will be a comprehensive industry directory to support up-and-coming renewable energy SMEs.

IIS Ltd is acting as the project co-ordinator for an EC FP5 Innovation Project, Renew-Transnet. Please contact jamie@technology-transfer.co.uk for more information.
