Synopsis
Since 1999, the slogan "From the pan into the tank" stands for a free-of charge collection system for waste oil from gastronomy and its recycling to biodiesel. Reduction of CO2 and pollutants by using biodiesel in buses of GVB (public transport operator Graz). The conversion to biodiesel is done in a plant in Southern Styria (SEEG) in Mureck. This biodiesel is then used to fuel 56 buses (ca. 50%) of the public transport operator in Graz (GVB, Grazer Verkehrsbetriebe). Air quality is considerably improved.
