The INTEND project - Integrated energy design in public buildings
A considerable amount of the energy used in Europe is spent on keeping a comfortable indoor climate in buildings. At the same time the design of buildings does not include an energy conscious design strategy.
Guidelines and demo projects for an integrated design process are highly needed. Guidelines in which there is focus on the whole building rather than on single technologies. Demo projects to serve as examples. The purpose is to be able to reduce the need for purchased energy as much as possible.
The vision of the project is to develop IED as a European practice of building design and to set a new standard substantially beyond the anticipated level of the Directive of Energy Performance of Buildings.
The INTEND Project is supported by the European Commission under contract EIE/06/021/SI2.448295 of the Intelligent Energy - Europe Programme.
