SPUTNIC (Strategies for Public Transport in Cities) is following up the VOYAGER project and its focus lies on local and regional public transport (PT) with special attention to the PT related challenges in the new and future Member States of the European Union.
SPUTNIC aims at helping the PT actors and decision makers to shape PT into an attractive and efficient mode of urban transport by:
- Providing support to stakeholders to anticipate and prepare for emerging challenges in the field of urban mobility
- Providing overview of state of the art knowledge and research
- Presenting specific guidelines and tools
- Offer PT professionals the opportunity to look for solutions to challenges facing their business directly in discussions and experience exchanges
SPUTNIC started in July 2006 and finalised its State-of-the-Art Report in late 2007. The project is supported by the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.
