PILOT - Planning Integrated Local Transport
PILOT is a European project, which will demonstrate the preparation of sustainable urban transport plans (SUTP) in four European cities: Braila (Romania), Evora (Portugal), Lancaster (UK) and Tallinn (Estonia).
In parallel, building upon the experience of these four cities and relying on experts from leading local authorities and organisations in this field, PILOT will propose tools, guidelines and recommendations for the elaboration of sustainable urban transport plans in other European regions and local authorities.
Finally, PILOT will contribute to the work leading to the formulation and implementation of the future Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment.
The PILOT is coordinated by POLIS, an association of European cities and regions working together on transport and environmental issues, in particular via innovative technologies, policies and funding systems. The project is supported by the European Commission, DG Environment.
