Valencian Metal Employers Federation (FEMEVAL) wishes to encourage energy efficiency within the metal sector. Their objectives are to

• Decrease the energy consumption within industrial companies from mechanized and metallic coating subsector.
• Diversifying the industrial energy sources towards the renewable ones.
• Promote investment in more efficient machinery and equipment.
• Create an energy-saving culture not only within the company but also using methodologies that allow each worker to transfer those behaviours to its private life.

Activities:

• Develop an Energy Diagnosis of the metal sector situation.
• Taking into account the conclusions of the Diagnosis, establish an Action Plan whose objective is to achieve a significant energy consumption reduction within the metal sector companies.
• Develop an Energy Best Practices Manual for industrial application within the metal sector.
• Create a consumption calculation tool able to estimate the energy saving that a company could obtain by taking part into the Efficient Energy Project.
• Search and select the metal sector companies taking part in the Project.
• Organize informative meetings where the companies selected will be explained about the Action Plan in order to decrease the energy consumption. Each company will be assessed regarding their particular possibilities to save energy, especially when diversifying it towards the renewable sources.
• Companies committed to the Project will be able to ask for an appointment to develop an energy workshop within their facilities. They will be offered the chance to audit their company by analyzing their processes, detecting the critical energy consumption points and listen to proposals in order to monitor and reduce their consumption especially through renewable energy systems.
• Organize company meetings in which the audit experiences will be shared and general conclusions will be highlighted. Company associations in order to obtain better conditions from energy suppliers, Transport collective Plans, waste reductions to reduce energy consumptions, internal energy reducing competitions for workers within a company, among many other alternatives will be discussed.
• Organize informative meetings where companies will be assessed regarding any economic help from government or local authorities in the energy field.
