Summary of the Good Practice Profile

Innovative fundraising has been an important feature of the development of this energy agency, Prioriterre, and has been closely linked with the agency’s raison d’être and its strategic and organisational development. Managing Director, Charles Magnier shares the agency’s experience on developing a fund-raising activity. A checklist of tips is provided at the end to help other local energy agencies that decide to explore fund-raising as an additional income source.

Background

In late 2008 and early 2009, research was undertaken by ManagEnergy on management innovation and management good practice among local and regional energy agencies. This involved desk research and telephone interviews with more than 20 local energy agencies across a number of countries, leading to the identification of a series of management innovations among these agencies.

The purpose of this work was to identify and profile a number of management innovations and good practice of interest for local energy agencies' management staff, and to disseminate and share these with energy agency staff. The target group for this work included directors or other management staff from local and regional energy agencies, as well as other local energy actors such as staff from local authorities and other public bodies.

Reports and Tools developed as a result of this study can be found on the Management Tools and Resources for Energy Agencies page of this website.
