CEN Workshop on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)
The EU Directive on Energy Performance of Buildings (EPD) was adopted in December 2002.
CEN/TC 89, 'Thermal performance of buildings and building components', CEN/TC 156, 'Ventilation for buildings', CEN/TC 169, 'Light and lighting', CEN/TC 228, 'Heating systems in buildings' and CEN/TC 247, 'Controls for mechanical building services' agreed to develop draft work programmes in response to the Directive.
In order to coordinate the technical work a 'EPD Project Group' consisting of the chairman and a delegate from each of the five CEN technical committees was created and a Workshop took place on 20 October 2003.
