EPC and other financing instruments for sustainable energy actions in Hungary

Target audience

Mayors and local elected representatives • Energy managers and energy agencies • Representatives of ministries • ESCO representatives

This ManagEnergy workshop was an opportunity for participants to:

· Learn about financial resources available for financing Sustainable Energy Action Plans

· Learn about successful energy performance contracting (EPC) projects

·  Learn principles, methodologies and solutions for EPC projects

·  Exchange experiences on the implementation of the Covenant of Mayors initiative in Hungarian cities

· Network and exchange with other peer signatories within the Hungarian Covenant of Mayors platform

Key issues addressed

· Introduction to SEAP development with focus on assessment of costs and benefits of EE/RES investments including assessment of costs of financing

· Financial resources for financing of SEAP implementation

·  EPC introduction including presentation of successful projects 

·  Financing within EPC projects – principles, problems (national) and their possible solutions (international experiences)

· Other barriers of EPC projects – problems (national) and their possible solutions (international experiences)
